If you started at university back in September, the chances are that you’ve spent the past couple of months getting to know the best pubs, bars and clubs in Preston. And if you partied with your friends on Freshers’ Week, you’ll probably have more knowledge than the locals about the best spots!

The great thing about first year is that it gives you a taste of university. You’ll be able to enjoy living away from home for the first time, getting to know new people and learning in a totally different atmosphere to your school years.

And although it seems like a lifetime away, you will soon be moving into second year! Read on to find out what you can expect.

You will get a lot more work

This might not be what you want to hear but in your second year, you will definitely be set more work by your lecturers. First year gives you time to get used to living away from home and the different teaching styles which you might not have experienced before.

In your second year, you should be familiar with the university life and because of this will be expected to have submitted work on time, attend your lectures and have read the books. And no, watching the film doesn’t count!

Nights out won’t be number one priority

When you start second year you will realise that night’s out no longer take priority. But don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that you have to spend every hour under the sun in the library, you can still have a social life! There may be times where all your friends are having a night out in time and you have to give it a miss so you can meet that all important deadline.

The important thing to remember is that although part of the university experience is meeting new people and making friends, you’re also there to get a degree.

You can move out of halls

Most students move out of university halls and into student houses for their second and third years. There are lots of great things about moving into a house, like getting to live with your besties as well as having your own space.

Bellvue have lots of lovely deluxe 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7-bedroom student houses available for the 2019/2020 academic year. Our houses are modern, fully furnished and come with speedy Wi-Fi, so

that you can stream Netflix to your heart’s content. They are also located in the heart of Preston city centre so you will be just minutes away from UCLan and your favourite high street shops and bars.

If you want to make sure that you and your friends secure a student house for your 2nd and 3

rd year, you will need to start looking for a property now. Our houses are already being signed up so don’t miss out, book a viewing today!
